For those that are interested, and I doubt you are, this strip had an entirely different ending originally, where they acknowledged their relationship, face to face. However, when I continued writing cartoons after this, I never acknowledged this relationship again, which was weird. So in order to save continuity, I just ended it.
And thus, you have the cruelty of editing.
